Winter CDH 2026 is Coming. Who’s Going?

Winter Contra Dancers Delight returns to Lakeview Golf Resort in Morgantown, West Virginia, December 26–31, followed by the optional New Year’s Eve dance. For those of us who have been before, not much explanation is needed: lots of dancing, excellent bands and callers, familiar faces from around the region, and several days when ordinary life more or less gives way to contra dance.

This year’s lineup includes Toss the Possum, George Paul + Friends, and Buzz Band & Sammy Wetstein, with callers Terry Doyle, Bob Isaacs, Devin Pohly, Warren Doyle, and Cathy Hollister for English Country Dance. The schedule offers up to 10 hours of dancing a day, but, as veterans know, nobody is required to prove they can actually dance all ten.

It would be great to have a Florida contingent together this year. One possibility is for six of us to share one of the two-bedroom condos at the resort. The condos sleep six and have a full kitchen, so we could stay together, reduce lodging costs, make breakfast or other meals when we feel like it, and still be right there for the dancing.
