These merry tricksters keep the floor swirling with tunes hot enough to wake the dead—and caller Terry Doyle will conjure your every move with her devilish charm and steady hand. Costumes encouraged, laughter inevitable. Bring your broomsticks, your partners, and your best ghostly grin for a night where even the pumpkins can’t sit still!
Playing With Fyre is:
- George Paul on keyboard;
- Rob Zisette on fiddle; and
- Steve Kemble on percussion.
Playing with Fyre hails from the Blue Ridge mountain region and offers a dazzling mix of fiddle fire, funky piano, and driving percussion that propels contras into something electric. Rob’s fiery fiddle playing, George’s funky, bluesy piano, and Steve’s extraordinary percussion create an ambience of dance seldom experienced.
Terry Doyle has been a vibrant force in the contra-dance world for more than two decades, combining warm teaching, energetic calling, melodic phrasing, and a genuine community-spirit that welcomes both newcomers and seasoned dancers alike. Whether she’s leading a flat-foot workshop one moment or calling a spirited contra the next, she brings clarity, rhythm and joy to the floor—ensuring that the dance isn’t just heard but lived. With her on the mic, you’re not just following steps—you’re becoming part of a living, breathing contra adventure.

Admission
- Adults
- 1st weekends: $15-30 per dance session or $30-60 for weekend pass
- Youth (under 26)
- 1st weekends: $7.50-15 per dance session or $15-30 for weekend pass
- Children under 16 admitted free when accompanied by an adult
