Get ready for an electrifying 3-day dance spectacle at The Dancing Fish of Lake Santa Fe! From December 5 @ 6 pm to December 7 @ 3 pm EST, dive into a non-stop contra celebration featuring two powerhouse bands and two masterful callers:
- 🔥 Thunderwing — Cedar Stanistreet (fiddle), Benjamin Foss (fiddle/banjo/guitar), and Amy Englesberg (piano/accordion) create a high-energy fiddle/accordion driven contra party.
- 🎶 Frenzy — Eden MacAdam-Somer (fiddle), Sam Bartlett (guitar), and Pokey (percussion) bring their dynamic groove and rhythm to the floor.
- 📣 Callers: Janine Smith & Dereck Kalish — expert national callers ready to guide you through each set with clarity, fun, and flair.
Thunderwing is Cedar Stanistreet on fiddle, Benjamin Foss on fiddle, banjo, and guitar, and Amy Englesberg on piano and accordion. Together they draw upon their wide-ranging musical experiences to create their own kind of party within the New England contra dance tradition. Their electrifying energy will leave you soaring and stomping in delight!
Expect 16 hours of “rocking music & dance,” crisp calling, and the perfect setting for old friends, new dancers, and everyone in between.

POTLUCK DINNER ON SATURDAY
There will be a Potluck Dinner on Saturday between afternoon & evening dances with salmon & veggies.
Schedule:
- Friday 6-10 pm
- Saturday 12-4 pm
- Saturday 6-10 pm
- Sunday 11-3 pm
Suggested Donation
- Adults
- 1st weekends: $15-30 per dance session or $30-60 for weekend pass
- Youth (under 26)
- 1st weekends: $7.50-15 per dance session or $15-30 for weekend pass
- Children under 16 admitted free when accompanied by an adult
- Payment should be made online whenever possible (in advance, or the day of, or the day after, or …) If this doesn’t work for you, come to the dance regardless, and talk to Joe.
