Contra Weekend with Hannah Chamberlain & Live Music at The Dancing Fish
Mark your calendar for a joyful weekend of dancing at The Dancing Fish of Lake Santa Fe! On February 6–7, the barn comes alive with the vibrant energy of Hannah Chamberlain, a rising contra dance caller from Maine known for her clear instruction and welcoming style. She’ll be calling to the tunes of three fantastic musicians: Larry Unger (Notorious), Emily Troll (Pine Tree Flyers & Anadama), and Eric Boodman (Calico) — a mix that promises lively rhythms and spirited sets for dancers of all levels.
The weekend kicks off Friday evening from 7–10 pm, continues on Saturday noon–3 pm with great dancing and a potluck dinner at 4:30 pm, and wraps up with the evening session 6–9 pm. Suggested donations help support the musicians and caller; youth and children are welcome with family-friendly pricing.
Whether you’re a seasoned mover or curious newcomer, come share the joy of community dance in the beautiful setting of Melrose, Florida. Bring your friends, your smile, and your dancing shoes!
