Annual New Year’s Eve Dance invokes global peace
United Church of Gainesville, 1624 NW 5th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida
and at numerous other locations worldwide to usher in a New Year of rising doubt, fear and uncertainty by dancing to concise prayers of world peace from the world’s religious traditions.
For nearly a quarter century, Gainesville residents have joined with like-minded communities around the world decades-old tradition of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our fellow human beings while earnestly praying for world peace.
Dances of Universal Peace are led and taught by long time dance leader Diana Kanoy of Ft. McCoy.
Doors open at 7:00 PM. $15 (or more) love offering suggested.
A participatory spiritual event honoring all world sacred traditions with singing & circle dancing for men & women of all faiths. No experience needed: everything will be taught in the moment.
