Florida Snowball Registration opens 3 October

To no one’s surprise, Hurricane Ian has caused the complete cancellation of this weekend’s events with Seth Tepfer and Kalos.

Seth and Kalos are being rescheduled for another weekend, however so we expect that both Seth Tepfer and Kalos will be back soon.

The decision was taken earlier on Tuesday. By evening, the band’s flight was cancelled. They were supposed to fly in first to perform in Saratoga before performing at The Dancing Fish 30 Sept-2 October, but all flights into Tampa were already cancelled.

Refund policy

If you booked and paid for this weekend’s dances, then you are entitled to a full refund. Or, simply carrying forward the credit for a future dance may be simpler for some. If you would like a refund, contact events@dancingfish.dance.

We know you’re all waiting to hear about what’s happening with the coming Florida Snowball planned for January 27-29, 2023. At the time of writing, however, that very much depends upon the impact of Ian upon Gulfport in particular.

For hard core enthusiasts, Snowball 2023 is still opening on October 3 despite the uncertainties involved due to the potential for storm damage to the historic structure and surroundings.

Music talent:

The Dam Beavers with Ben Schreiber, Scotty Leach, Ness Smith-Savedoff, and maybe a beaver, too
Gaslight Tinkers with Jopey Fitzpatrick, Garrett Sawyer, Peter Siegel, and special guest fiddler Noah VanNorstrandCallers are Darlene Underwood and Seth Tepfer.

Sound will be handled by Jamie Platt, “The Sound Guy“.

This is a contra dance weekend not to be missed. It will be held at the Gulfport Casino, a beautiful beach-front ballroom with a large white maple floor.

This is NOT a gender balanced event(so you don’t need a partner to sign up).
Vaccinations and masks are not required but please do what you feel is best for your personal health, we respect any decisions.

Cost is $110 if paid by December 20, after that it’s $125.
