Joey Norton of St. Petersburg will be calling contra dances to the music of Katie’s Contradiction on 20 May 2023 evening.

Early Birds’ waltz at The Dancing Fish

Before the Waltz, people danced around each other with little or no contact at all. As the dance started gaining popularity, it was criticised on moral grounds due to its close-hold stance and fast turning movements. Religious leaders regarded it as vulgar and sinful.

Saturday evening dancing at The Dancing Fish start as early as 5 pm when the barn opens to the vaccinated public. Arrive early to warm up to recorded waltz music.
